Chobits is a good anime, to be honest it was my first series to watch in its entirety. It has its comedic elements as well as a serious storyline, and it transitions pretty smoothly. Towards the end of the series the story picks up and it gets pretty entertaining, and they still manage to sneak in some comedy from time to time to mix it up.
